Digital self-enumeration for phase 2 of Census 2027 begins

The Population Enumeration (PE) phase of Census 2027 will begin on Monday in Ladakh and snow-bound areas of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Self-enumeration will remain open from August 17 to August 31. Census officials will then conduct door-to-door enumeration from September 1. The 40-question schedule includes caste, parental details, identity documents and other demographic information.
