Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said casting Diljit Dosanjh in 'Main Vapas Aaunga' was purely instinctive. On the podcast, he said the story is so close to Diljit, his land and circumstance, that he suits it even more than he did Chamkila. When audiences watch it, Imtiaz hopes they'll feel the film is the voice inside Diljit's own heart.
