Mahout Bomman and his wife Bellie, on whom the Oscar-winning documentary film 'The Elephant Whisperers' is based, have alleged director Kartiki Gonsalves had taken money from them to shoot scenes in the film and hadn't yet paid them back. "The director gave us no money for featuring," they claimed. They added that everything changed after the movie got the Oscar.
