Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday criticised Education Ministry for failing to provide data in Lok Sabha regarding low proportion of UGC-NET qualifiers securing Junior Research Fellowships (JRF). "This is a disappointing answer," Tharoor said, highlighting Non-NET fellowship stipend, frozen at ₹8,000 monthly since 2006. He added that Union MoS Sukanta Majumdar "merely outlined existing rules".
