As a divorce lawyer when clients come to me I advise filing for divorce by mutual consent under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act. This divorce is usually granted within 6 months of filing the petition. Mutual consent means that the spouses agree to part ways amicably, without assigning blame to each other for the failure of the marriage.
