Diwali gifting set to be expensive

Inflation has accelerated across several categories that typically see stronger demand around Diwali, as per a Moneycontrol analysis. The sharpest increase among major household gifting categories was visible in glassware, tableware and household utensils. Inflation has also steadily increased in furniture, furnishings and loose carpets, another category that typically sees increased purchases.
