Radhakishan Damani, the billionaire owner of supermarket chain DMart, is reportedly considering acquiring a controlling stake in India Cements. He has informally reached out to N Srinivasan, who controls 28% of the Chennai-based cement maker, to explore a takeover, according to reports. Damani and his family's stake in India Cements has quadrupled this year to nearly 20% as of March.
