Do not support govt control over temples: Centre to SC in Sabarimala case

During the hearing in Sabarimala case, the central government told the Supreme Court that it doesn't advocate for direct management of religious bodies by the government. Centre added many Hindu traditions are unique and judicial definitions should not force a uniform "straitjacket" on these practices. SC replied that if denominations get absolute power to exclude others, it could divide society.
