Gastroenterologist Dr Shubham Vatsya explained why many have ghee on empty stomach. Ghee contains butyric acid, which, nourishes intestines from within, and helps to settle down acidity and bloating while supporting smoother digestion, Dr Vatsya noted. It also has anti-inflammatory fats. Consuming one teaspoon of desi ghee with warm water in morning is a safe and gut-friendly routine, he said.
