A US court has ordered former paediatrician Stuart Copperman to pay $1.6 billion (over ₹13,800 crore) to female patients who accused him of sexual abuse. While the now 89-year-old was never charged with a crime, he lost his medical licence at the age of 65. Copperman had denied the allegations, claiming that he was simply being "thorough" with his examinations.
