After a second-year resident doctor in Mumbai's BYL Nair Hospital took her life, Maharashtra State Commission for Women has written to the Dean asking for a report on the action taken after her suicide. Payal Tadvi, who hailed from a Muslim tribal family and was studying gynaecology, allegedly killed herself after facing harassment and casteist slurs from three senior doctors.
