Does converting a credit card purchase to EMI cancel reward points?

Converting a credit card purchase into an EMI can ease monthly payments but may affect reward points earned on the transaction. Depending on the card issuer and EMI type, points may be reversed, withheld or not credited at all. EMI-converted purchases are often treated as non-eligible transactions and generally do not qualify for new reward points.
