Tesla CEO Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has laid off nearly half of the staff of a government unit overseeing the safety of autonomous vehicles, the Washington Post reported. The cuts are part of reductions at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The NHTSA is reportedly losing around 10% of its workforce through firings and buyout offers.
