Dogecoin, a meme-inspired cryptocurrency, has surged more than 400% over the last week, according to data from CoinGecko. The cryptocurrency soared more than 30% in the last 24 hours to cross $52 billion in market value. Dogecoin was created by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer to critique the cryptocurrency frenzy in 2013.
