Chandigarh has banned the bursting of firecrackers and hoarding of essential commodities like rice, wheat and fuel amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. "All traders...must declare their current stock...within 3 days," Chandigarh DM, Nishant Kumar Yadav said in an order. Another order stated that the "noise made by...firecrackers...leads to a fear of actual bomb...attack".
