Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the country is not interested in seizing Ukrainian land as it has the biggest territory on Earth. He stated that Russia wants to protect ethnic Russians and Russian-speaking people from persecution by Ukraine. Lavrov added Russia's goal is to "remove any security threats to Russia coming from Ukrainian territory".
