Local residents in Bhopal fed 'gulab jamun' to donkeys in a unique ritual to bring rain in the city, with one person saying that the ritual was to please the god of rain, Lord Indra. Official data showed that 35 Madhya Pradesh districts have received below-normal rainfall so far. However, Bhopal has received 44% more rainfall than the normal average.
