India's 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev said Suryakumar Yadav shouldn't be compared with Sanju Samson. He stated, "If Sanju goes through a bad phase then you'll talk about somebody else. This shouldn't happen. If the team management has decided to back Suryakumar then he should be given more chances." Suryakumar recorded three golden ducks in ODI series against Australia.
