The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended that two cough syrups, AMBRONOL syrup and DOK-1 Max syrup, made by India's Noida-based company Marion Biotech shouldn't be used for children, after the products were linked to 19 deaths in Uzbekistan. "Laboratory analysis found both products contained unacceptable amounts of diethylene glycol and/or ethylene glycol as contaminants," WHO stated.
