DoT's FRI system helps prevent ₹5,000-cr cyber fraud losses

The Department of Telecommunications' Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) system helped prevent suspected cyber fraud losses of over ₹5,000 crore within 15 months of its launch in May 2025. The initiative uses telecom intelligence to provide financial organisations with real-time risk information on mobile numbers, enabling proactive fraud prevention.
