DPA awards Essar Ports 30-yr cargo terminal deal at Kandla

Deendayal Port Authority issued a Letter of Award to Essar Ports for a multipurpose cargo terminal at Tuna Tekra, Kandla, under a 30-year BOT concession. The ₹2,276 crore project will handle 18.33 million tonnes annually, feature four 300-metre berths, and begin commercial operations by 2031. Essar won via global competitive bidding, offering ₹61 royalty per tonne.
