DPR for $4-billion Thoothukudi shipyard expected in six months

The detailed project report (DPR) for India’s proposed $4-billion greenfield shipyard in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, is expected to be finalised within six months, government said. HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), shipbuilding arm of HD Hyundai, is a key strategic investor. The proposed facility is expected to have an annual shipbuilding capacity of 2.5 million gross tonnes.
