DR Congo has reported 1,502 confirmed Ebola cases and 473 deaths, with the outbreak continuing to spread in the eastern provinces of Ituri and North Kivu. The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a clinical trial to evaluate a possible treatment, as no approved vaccine or specific therapy exists for the Bundibugyo strain.
