India's DRDO revealed a 6.8x43mm assault rifle prototype developed by ARDE. Offering balanced power and weight, it features a polymer magazine and telescopic stock. This indigenous rifle could compete with imported SIG716s and delayed AK-203s for the Indian Army, supporting self-reliance in defence, pending rigorous trials and establishing ammunition logistics.
