Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar revealed he decided to drop late singer Kishore Kumar's biopic after knowing about Anurag Basu's plans for a similar film. "I did...three to four years of research with the family, but there were...other scripts being worked," he said. "I had developed a draft...but when I learnt about Anurag, I didn’t think there was any point," Sircar added.
