DSP Humayun Bhat laid down his life while protecting the country. Son of Ghulam Hasan Bhat, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Jammu & Kashmir, Humayun was inspired by his father and wanted to wear the ‘khaki’ police uniform like him. He was leading the anti-terror operations in the dense Gudul-Kokernag forests of Anantanag when he got badly injured.
