E coli found in 50% groundwater samples in Indore where at least 10 died

Over half of the groundwater samples taken from multiple borewells in Indore's Bhagirathpura locality have tested positive for E coli bacteria, the officials said. Indore district collector Shivam Verma said that faecal coliform contamination was found in 35 out of 69 ground water samples lifted from borewells. Notably, at least 10 people died after consuming contaminated water in Indore.
