E-comm, social media platforms to delete personal user data after 3 yrs: Draft DPDP rules

Digital Personal Data Protection Act's draft rules proposed that fiduciaries like e-commerce, gaming and social media platforms erase personal data of users three years after it's no longer required. Platforms will have to notify users at least 48 hours before data erasure. This will allow users to log in or re-initiate contact with platforms if they wish to retain data.
