CM Vijay-led Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday released a 'White Paper' regarding the state's fiscal position, according to which every child born in Tamil Nadu carries a debt burden of ₹1.28 lakh. The paper claimed that the state's overall financial liabilities have risen to around ₹13.18 lakh crore. It estimated Tamil Nadu's outstanding direct debt to nearly ₹10 lakh crore.
