Earliest known mammal that lived 225 mn years ago identified by its teeth

Using fossil dental records, scientists have identified the earliest known mammal that lived 225 million years ago. A shrew-like creature, Brasilodon quadrangularis, grew up to 20 centimetres in length and existed at the same time as some of the oldest dinosaurs. The extinct vertebrate was found to have two successive sets of teeth - baby (milk) teeth and permanent teeth.
