Earth's shadow to cover 93% of moon in Aug 28 lunar eclipse
Around 93% of the moon will be covered by Earth's shadow during the lunar eclipse on August 28, NASA's August skywatching guide said. A lunar eclipse takes place when Earth comes into line of sight between sun and moon. A portion of the moon may appear dark red or copper due to deflection of the sun's light by Earth's atmosphere.
