September 23 marked the beginning of the autumn season in the Northern Hemisphere, referred as 'Autumn Equinox', with 'equinox' being Latin for 'equal night'. An equinox occurs twice a year when the Sun is directly over Earth's equator, resulting in both day and night time to be roughly 12 hours each. Notably, the Spring Equinox was on March 21.
