Earth to witness 'Black Moon' this year

A rare lunar event called the 'Black Moon' will occur this year. The term refers to the occurrence of two 'new moons' in a single calendar month, an event that occurs once every 2-3 years. It will be 'witnessed' by the Western Hemisphere on September 30, and on October 31 by the Eastern Hemisphere.
