UK-based explorer Jason Lewis completed the first-ever circumnavigation of the Earth without wind or motor assistance, nine years ago on October 6, 2007. Beginning on July 12, 1994, his 13-year-long journey saw him walking, cycling, kayaking, and swimming, among others. During the journey, he was run over by a car, suspected of spying and also attacked by a crocodile.
