Earth's magnetic field weakening, impacting orbiting satellites: Scientists

Earth's magnetic field is gradually weakening in an area from Africa to South America and causing technical disturbances in orbiting satellites, scientists said. They're using data from European Space Agency's Swarm constellation to improve understanding of this area called 'South Atlantic Anomaly.' Over last 200 years, the magnetic field has lost around 9% of its strength on a global average.
