Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Wednesday said the floods across Australia's east coast that have killed 22 people due to heavy rains will be declared a national emergency. Morrison said the declaration will "ensure all our emergency powers are available and that we cut through any red tape we might face in delivering services and support on the ground".
