Election Commission on Saturday announced that voters in Bihar are entitled to paid holidays on polling days. "As per section 135B of Representation of the People Act, 1951, every person employed…shall be granted a paid holiday on the day of poll," it said. Employers who violate this provision can be fined. Bihar will go to polls next month in November.
