The Election Commission has revised the rules for appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs). Previously, a BLA had to be a registered voter of the same part of the electoral roll for which they were appointed. Under the new rules, if no eligible voter is available, a BLA can now be appointed from any registered elector within the same Assembly constituency.
