Superintendent of Police, Howrah (Rural) Soumya Roy was transferred to a non-election related post by the Election Commission since his wife is a TMC candidate in upcoming West Bengal polls. Roy, an IPS officer, is husband of actor Lovely Maitra, whom TMC has fielded from Sonarpur Dakshin. Roy has been replaced by Shrihari Pandey, an IPS officer of 2011 batch.
