After Gyanesh Kumar was appointed the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the trust of the people in the Election Commission is gradually diminishing. "Election Commission has become a cheerleader for the BJP government...Election Commission is becoming a cancer for democracy," he added. Yadav had criticised ECI on several occasions before.
