An economist in the US has claimed to have discovered $21 trillion in unauthorised spending by the US government. He claimed that the US departments of Defence and Housing and Urban Development spent the unauthorised amount between 1998 and 2015. Such lack of transparency goes against the due process of authorising federal spending through the US Congress, he said.
