Amid widespread anti-government protests, Ecuador's Energy Ministry on Sunday warned that oil production in the country could come to a complete halt within 48 hours due to "acts of vandalism", seizure of oil wells and road blockades. Ecuador's oil output has halved since the beginning of the protests on June 13 by indigenous groups over food and fuel prices.
