Scientists have explained the 'screaming' mummy discovered in 1935 in Egypt using CT scans. The woman, found with her mouth wide open, likely died in agony due to rare cadaveric spasm, a muscular stiffening at death. Aged about 48, she had mild arthritis and tooth loss. Her well-preserved body was embalmed 3,500 years ago with costly juniper oil and frankincense.
