El Salvador's homicide rate falls below France's after crackdown on gangs
El Salvador reported a year-to-date homicide rate of 0.97 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2026, below France's reported rate of approximately 1.43 for 2025. In 2015, El Salvador reported a homicide rate of 106.3 per 100,000 inhabitants.
