The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa as Vice-President for Private Sector Operations and Public-Private Partnerships, a statement issued by bank in Manila said on Wednesday. He will succeed Diwakar Gupta, whose term will end on August 31. Lavasa was next in line to be appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner after CEC Sunil Arora's retirement.
