The number of meter tampering activities are on rise in Pune as Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd (MSEDCL) reported 5,719 cases of electricity theft and 1,591 cases of unauthorised use of electricity in the last 6 months. The electricity theft amounted to ₹16.07 crore while unauthorised use of electricity worth ₹6.43 crore was reported during this period.
