Electricity bills may go down as power watchdog reviews transaction fees: Report

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission is considering the rationalisation of transaction fees charged by power trading exchanges, in a move that could potentially lower electricity bills, PTI reported. This comes as part of the power watchdog's efforts to implement market coupling. "Prices are expected to...soften...benefiting distribution companies...and eventually end-users," an expert said.
