Union Minister KJ Alphons has said the emergency exit of Arpit Palace hotel in Delhi's Karol Bagh, where 17 people were killed in a fire, was locked. "The police had to rescue people from the front...Also, the emergency door was too narrow. There was a violation of building rules," Alphons added. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.
