Eminent scientist Dr Malur Ramasamy Srinivasan, who was involved in development of India's nuclear power programme, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 95. He worked alongside Dr Homi Bhabha on India's first nuclear research reactor, Apsara. In 1987, Dr Srinivasan became the chairman of India's Atomic Energy Commission and 18 nuclear power units were constructed during his tenure.
