Energy market volatility may hurt India's fiscal deficit: RBI Guv

While giving the monetary policy statement, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said the disruptions in global energy markets may adversely impact India's fiscal deficit. The elevated crude oil prices, driven by war in the Middle East, could increase imported inflation and widen the current account deficit, the central bank said. The RBI projected India's GDP growth to be 6.9% in FY27.
